Google tries to remind site owners what constitutes link spam
Links have always been a contentious issue when it comes to search engine optimization. Some contend that any link is good as long as it positively impacts search engine rankings. Others, are more careful in their approach, and try to stay away from links that may be considered as spam by almighty Google. But what does Google think?
Google is always quick to remind us that using link schemes could negatively impact rankings. In their latest post they provide some examples as it relates to affiliate links and guest posts (sponsored content).
The fundamental warning Google gives is that any link that does not occur organically (without an existing relationship between linker and linkee) is suspect.
